The Astrology of 2021
Rose-Marie Sorokin • Jan 04, 2021

And it is very different from 2020!

In 2020 we had to deal with radical transformation, breakdowns and breakthroughs, and the need to deal with things unimaginable. We may have had to muster a deeper sense of resourcefulness than we ever thought possible, we have had to be so very patient and to dive deep into our hearts and minds to try to understand just what is essential in our lives.
At the same time, we've been stretched beyond expectations to be adaptable, learn quickly, and discover the depth of what it means to be creative.

As we've seen the ugliness of the collective shadow emerge, we've also likely seen examples of such beauty and grace that it may have touched our hearts deeply, reminding us of the potential of love and healing.

The big difference between 2020 and 2021 is that the powerful (and usually destructive) conjunctions between Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter in Capricorn are over. The are now moving apart and by June they will be in three different signs. Phew. We are moving into a more optimistic and less 'rigid' time.

The year 2021 enters with the sense of a new era announcing itself, as the immense impact of the great conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius fades away. While we had to say goodbye to an old era in 2020, the astrology of 2021 will require continuously adapting to the far-reaching changes that will be erupting across all aspects of society. The closeness of Jupiter and Saturn in the sky at the beginning of the year will serve as a guiding star of hope for creating the reforms and innovative solutions that are needed to address the many social issues that have been exposed during the past year of the global pandemic.

The astrology of 2021 is very different to 2020 and is primarily centred around the square aspects between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. This takes place three times - February 17, June 14, and December 23. This is about letting go of how we think things should be and embrace the rapid advancement that needs to come forward within outdated structures – on a global and personal level. It is also about discovering the creative potential that is available and about finding out who you really are and what you really want.

If we take a look at Uranus in Taurus (which will be there until 2026) it represents the divine feminine (among other things). Before this, Uranus spent 7 years in Aries which was all about masculinity, so we are now moving into an era where there will be more emphasis on the feminine and an advancement in women’s rights. Taurus is also about finances, abundance, beauty, and earthliness all seen through the feminine lens. We have already seen signs of this – more interest in gardening, nature, the environment. There could also be drastic ups and down in the stock market (which we have already seen) and personal finance and resources

January begins with a big bang, as Mars will enter Taurus on January 6 and spend the rest of the month amplifying the tensions between Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus. There could be social unrest or rapid changes on all levels. We will have to continue to be adaptable and resilient.

Once February arrives, we will have the opportunity to adjust to whatever changes we have been experiencing personally, as Mercury will be retrograde in Aquarius along with the sun, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn – all in Aquarius. During the second half of February, we can gain greater clarity for the way our life has been changing on both internal and external levels, helping us to find ways of cultivating greater stability and creativity.

The second quarter of the year will begin more calmly than January and February, but change will begin accelerating again at the end of April and the beginning of May when Mercury, Venus, and the sun will move through conjunctions with Uranus and square aspects with Saturn. On 13 May Jupiter moves into Pisces which represents an angelic sign of hope. This can be a source of inspiration and a chance to work on your ideas and dreams. The keyword is expansion. A great time for meditation and deepening your heart connection.

On 1 July Mars moves into Leo which emphasises the friction between Saturn and Uranus, followed by Venus in Leo doing the same from 6 July through 8 July. When Venus and Mars form a conjunction in Leo on July 13, it will be an important time for coming to terms with what you want within your relationships and how you want to creatively express yourself. August and first half of September can be a restorative period for centring yourself again if anything came out of balance in July.

The first half of November could be intense with strong aspects between Mars, Mercury, Saturn and Uranus which can accelerate events and mark important turning points in our story. Things can happen quickly and there is yet again a dilemma between the old and the new. It is as if we are being asked again and again what it is we want and how we want our lives to be. Also, as we learnt in 2020, we have to be adaptable and flexible.

During December 2021 we have the last Saturn Uranus square (23 Dec) and we will need, once and for all, shed whatever has become inauthentic and embrace the possibility of liberating ourselves from old restrictions. The entrance of Jupiter into Pisces on December 28 will serve as a beacon of light that can guide us toward the expansive potential available as 2021 draws to a close.

jupiter saturn conjunction 2020

The Saturn/Jupiter conjunction takes place at 0.1 degrees Aquarius (both planets having spent a long time in Capricorn). Some people say that this is our proper entrance into the Aquarian Age (you may have heard of this) and this represents a major shift away from the 'heavy' and materialistic earth signs where the Jupiter/Saturn cycle has occurred for the last 200 years. We are now shifting into a 200-year long Jupiter/Saturn cycle in air signs.

Contrary to its popular but erroneous reputation as a New Age subject, astrology is actually an ancient science that predates both astronomy and psychology. Used throughout the world for thousands of years, astrology is the study of the interactions among the stars and the planets, based on complex mathematical cycles

6 Valentine’s Self-Love Tips Valentine's Day puts the emphasis on love for someone special in your life. But did you ever think that, YOU are someone special in your life? Why not make this day about loving yourself ? In honor of February 14, the designated day of love, here are a few ways to practice self-love: 1. Practice acceptance. Learning to accept yourself for who you are is the most important step to self-love. Stop comparing yourself to others and learn to embrace the person you are. You have beautiful qualities, both physical and emotional. You don't need to look or talk or act like anyone else. We all offer the world something different. That's what makes it so beautiful. 2. Take care of yourself. Taking care of your body shows you have respect for the amazing temple your soul inhabits. 3. Nourish your body. Replenishing your body with clean water and real, whole food is a loving gesture. As they say, you are what you eat. Show your body that it matters by providing the high-quality nutrients it needs to thrive. 4. Be grateful. Are you grateful to have a healthy body that you can move? How lucky are you to have a job to provide for you and your family? Finding things to be grateful for on a daily basis can help change your inner dialogue. If you tend toward negative internal conversation, gratitude is a wonderful way to change that. 5. Get comfortable with "me time." So many people struggle with the idea of taking time for themselves. They dedicate their lives to taking care of children or elderly parents, and the thought of taking a couple of hours for themselves brings too much guilt. Well, I am here to tell you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking some "me" time. Even just an hour every now and then can help to recharge and reenergise you. This is not only important for your own well-being but for those around you. 6. Enjoy yourself! Life is short! It doesn't have to be so serious. While there is a time and a place to be serious, there should also be plenty of time to enjoy yourself. When was the last time you laughed out loud? Or sang at the top of your lungs? Allowing yourself to be creative and let loose will boost your spirits and remind you that life isn't just about work. There can still be some playtime in there, too!
